Very talented animator Warren Goff shows how to approach animations as they do on League of Legends. I found couple of things that caught my attention:
- I found a refreshing way to focus on in-betweens and how important is the resting time after a pose is hit.
- You can clearly see, there is a formula on the way they create animations but nevetheless there is a lot of focus on creativity and unique moves.
- Working for an isometric point of view lets them exaggerate over the top key poses and silhouettes become super, super important to be able to read from far away moves.
- Love the way they handle capes, guns, artifacts, also dynamics and particles. Gives extra love to the overall motion and complements very well the character appeal.
- In matters of gameplay I think they have the luxury to create slower actions from user reaction to gameplay action. The blending system is very intuitive and is treated as usual in other games.
- Check Warren´s vimeo. Love his style in personal pieces and timing is just sweetttt!! :)
